Governor Schwarzenegger Releases Proposed State Budget Early

In an unexpected action, on December 31, 2008, the Schwarzenegger administration released summary documents of the proposed 2009-10 state budget. The California Constitution requires the budget to be presented by January 10th of each year. The Public School Investment and Accountability Act

The California Teachers Association has submitted the Public School Investment and Accountability Act initiative to the Attorney General.  They hope to qualify the initiative for a 2009 election.  The Public School Investment and Accountability Act is a 1-cent sales tax that will generate new, ongoing resources to local school districts and community colleges.  more ...
