Revenue Update

On February 22, 2011, the Department of Finance released its most recent report of actual of state General Fund revenues. That estimate confirmed all of the prior estimates that state revenues are improving better than expected.

The actual cash state General Fund revenue was $1.3 billion higher than estimated for the combined months of December and January. While schools will not receive a share of the new revenues because Proposition 98 has been suspended, the state’s cash flow is better and there is a little less pressure for more cuts before June.
